About HeelsCollaborate

HeelsCollaborate is a product of the Center for Women’s Health Research (CWHR) at UNC. Leadership recognized the need for a resource that would both help researchers reach their goals by developing interdisciplinary networks and exploring different funding opportunities.

Interests contained within HeelsCollaborate represent the work of investigators that are affiliated with CWHR, have been identified as part of a Core network (learn more), or have asked to be included. If you would like to learn more about being included in this resource, please contact cwhr@unc.edu.

The development of HeelsCollaborate would not have been possible without the support of CWHR’s investigators, the UNC Office of Research Development, and Emily Gering and Albert Kang who produced this resource.

Research Connect allows users to find researchers with whom they may collaborate on research activities. Searchable fields include UNC school, department, and division (searchable by dropdown selection) as well as free-text search of research interests that have been supplied by researchers themselves or collected from university websites and datasets. Each researcher’s record also includes a link to their Scopus page, which provides a list of their previous and forthcoming publications.

In order to better reflect a researcher’s current research interests and promote networking with funding opportunities and other researchers, each researcher is assigned between one and three Research Topics. While the identities of Research Topics are derived from the disciplines studied at UNC (as identified by its schools, departments, and divisions), the assignment of Research Topics to researchers is determined by their research interests and not their home departments, which allows for easy identification of potential collaborators with similar interests.

Scopus is a copyrighted product of Elsevier and is not affiliated with UNC, the Center for Women’s Health Research, or HeelsCollaborate.
