Welcome to the UNC bleeding disorders, HHT and thrombosis program’s website. We hope you find this information useful in answering questions and learning about our center.

I am privileged to lead an innovative and dedicated group of professionals who are committed to enhancing the health and quality of life of people with bleeding and clotting disorders through comprehensive health care services, education, and research. Throughout its long history, the UNC Hemophilia and Thrombosis Center has been the core of ground-breaking research achievements and clinical care to benefit patients and their families.

  • US FDA approves Pfizer’s gene therapy for rare bleeding disorder

    The U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved Pfizer’s gene therapy for hemophilia B on Friday, the second such therapy for the rare bleeding disorder that typically requires regular infusions of a blood-clotting protein.  Quick article for more information!
