UNC Medical Center is requesting nominations for its annual Quality and Safety Awards, to be held Tuesday, Oct. 12 at the Medical Center Improvement Council (MCIC) meeting. Janet Hadar, President of UNC Hospitals, and Dr. Tom Ivester, Chief Medical Officer, sponsor the awards.

To be eligible for the award, nominations should represent a team from the Medical Center (including Hillsborough Hospital and Outpatient Services) that has shown sustained results from a quality improvement or patient safety initiative that began in the past 3 years. The final selection of awarded teams will be announced by the end of August.

Awardees will be invited to a reception at the MCIC meeting in October and will receive individual plaques commemorating their achievements. Family members and team supervisors will be encouraged to attend. (It is yet to be determined if the meeting will be held virtually or in-person.)

Nominations should be submitted by Friday, June 11 at the following link: https://unc.az1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_1GrwZNhHi4rzZIN

We know there are many outstanding teams who are improving patient care and we are eager to recognize these efforts.
