Kara Lingley-Brown is a Quality Improvement Leader and Kaizen Coach in the Office of Quality Excellence at UNC Health, where she has served for more than 15 years. She holds an MHA from the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health and brings extensive experience in administrative and clinical operations, business and financial analytics, and inpatient quality improvement. Kara is deeply committed to advancing care coordination, patient experience, and outcomes across the health system. She has contributed to numerous systemwide initiatives focused on strengthening reliability, streamlining workflows, and improving the delivery of safe, effective care. Her dedication is shaped by personal experiences supporting family members through complex medical journeys at UNC, which fuels her passion for empowering teams and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Kara also serves on the UNC Children’s Cardiac Family Advisory Board and as the parent co-chair of the UNC Children’s Patient Family Advisory Board, elevating patient and family perspectives in improvement efforts.
