Dr. Anne Peery is a Professor of Medicine at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine at Chapel Hill, where she also serves as Medical Director of the Adult Nutrition Support Team. She trained in digestive disease epidemiology at UNC and holds a Master of Science in Clinical Research. An NIH-funded clinical investigator, Dr. Peery leads research on common but understudied gastrointestinal diseases that significantly affect quality of life and healthcare utilization. She received a career development award (K23DK113225) and currently directs an R01 (DK132050) examining the role of obesity in diverticulitis.

Dr. Peery was a Scholar in the UNC Institute for Healthcare Quality Improvement Scholars Program (2024–2025), where she focused on aligning parenteral nutrition use with best practices. Her team’s work earned a 2025 UNC Carolina Quality and Safety Award.
