Dr. Ashley Sutton is a Pediatric Hospitalist and Professor of Pediatrics at the UNC School of Medicine. She is the Inpatient Medical Director and Associate Chief Safety Officer for UNC Children’s and Associate Vice Chair for Safety and Inpatient Operations in the Department of Pediatrics. She is the co-lead for the Children’s Safety Committee and oversees Quality, Patient Safety and Throughput for the Division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine. During her time on faculty, she has led efforts throughout UNC Children’s focusing on improving care and systems, with a particular focus on patient transfers and throughput. She has a particular interest in fostering meaningful resident QI participation and has mentored and led multiple projects that have resulted in local and national presentation and publication opportunities for trainees.
