Erin Borden serves UNC Health as a HCS Senior Business & Quality Improvement Leader on the Operational Efficiency team. For almost 10 years, Erin has been teaching Lean Six Sigma courses to employees at all levels and leading projects with various frontline teams to improve patient safety and outcomes by reducing process wastes. These initiatives range from small, local improvements to workplace organization using 5S – to multi-year, strategic improvement plans using Value Stream Analysis principles. Erin strives to make quality improvement accessible and value-adding for all staff, through training and mentorship in Lean and other leadership models. Erin has partnered with the IHQI team to assist with Maintenance of Certification project review panels and presentations on engaging with the UNC Health Quality Improvement System – and she looks forward to partnering with you in the future!
