John Hipp is a fourth-year medical student from Raleigh, NC who is pursuing anesthesiology. Before medical school, John worked as a process engineer and consultant during which he developed his interest in quality improvement. He hopes to continue to use his engineering background to improve the systems around him in his future career. This year, John is working with Dr. David Flynn on an initiative within the anesthesia department to decrease volatile anesthetic usage and in turn green house gas emissions.
