Dr. Joseph Grover is an Associate Professor and Director of Quality in the UNC Department of Emergency Medicine, Chief Medical Officer for Orange County Emergency Services, and Program Director of the UNC EMS Fellowship. In his role as Director of Quality, he oversees departmental quality improvement initiatives and co-chairs the EM Quality Safety Council. He also serves as an active member of the UNC System Quality Workgroup. In 2024, Dr. Grover received the Carolina Quality and Safety Award for his leadership in advancing sepsis care.
Nationally, Dr. Grover has chaired the Quality and Safety Committee of the National Association of EMS Physicians (NAEMSP) and has been a core faculty member for NAEMSP’s quality improvement education programs since their inception. He currently serves as Course Director for the NAEMSP EMS Fellow Quality and Safety Course and coauthored two recent national EMS quality improvement position statements published in Prehospital Emergency Care.
