Josh Hinson is the Director of Relational Leadership @ Carolina (RL@C), a learning community dedicated to developing human-centered leaders. As a program of the UNC Provost’s Office’s Interprofessional Health Initiatives, RL@C helps participants build teams and organizational cultures that prioritize connection, engagement, and well-being across North Carolina and beyond. Josh began partnering with Intend Health Strategies in 2019 through UNC-Chapel Hill’s pilot Relational Leadership Institute cohort. Before becoming Director of RL@C, Josh served as a Clinical Assistant Professor at the UNC School of Social Work, where he led the UNC Global Transmigration – Refugee Mental Health and Wellness Initiative. This research project assessed mental health needs for refugees and partnered with the North Carolina State Refugee Office beginning in 2015 to provide services in Orange, Durham, and Wake Counties, later expanding statewide.

Josh lives in Hillsborough, NC with his wife, their two children, a dog, and an ever-fluctuating population of chickens.
