Katelynn is originally from the Outer Banks of North Carolina and is a double Tar Heel, having earned her BA in Biology from UNC Chapel Hill in 2019. She then went on to complete her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Duke University, where she was a scholar in the Quality & Innovation Scholars Program.

She has worked as a Medical ICU nurse for 5 years, during which she developed an interest in quality improvement and recognized the importance of always striving to improve patient care and workflow processes. Her prior QI work focused on reducing central line–associated bloodstream infections (CLABSIs) in critically ill patients. Katelynn is strongly interested in critical care and is passionate about optimizing interprofessional teamwork to enhance patient outcomes.
