Katie Westreich is a pediatric nephrologist, program director of the pediatric nephrology fellowship program, and medical director of pediatric kidney transplant at UNC. She also sits on the Children’s Hospital Safety Committee. Dr. Westreich was trained in QI methodology at Intermountain Health in Utah and completed a one-year fellowship in quality and safety through UNC IHQI. She was an IHQI improvement scholar in 2017 and has been on the IHQI faculty since 2018. Dr. Westreich’s special areas of interest include pediatric kidney transplant, medical education, and improving clinical processes in the inpatient and outpatient settings using proven QI methodologies.
