Lane F. Donnelly, MD, is a Professor of Radiology and Pediatrics at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine. He serves as Executive Vice Chair of the Department of Pediatrics, Chief Quality & Safety Officer for UNC Children’s, Vice Chair of Quality & Safety for Pediatrics, and Associate Vice Chair of Quality & Safety for Radiology. Dr. Donnelly has published more than 310 peer-reviewed manuscripts, cited over 14,400 times (h-index 64, i10-index 199). His research and improvement work has received multiple national honors, including the International Quality Radiology Network’s Quality-Improvement in Radiology Practices Paper Competition Annual Award (2008), the Caffey Award for Outstanding Presented Paper from the Society for Pediatric Radiology (2001, 2009, 2011, 2023), the 2012 British Medical Association Book Award, the Journal of the American College of Radiology Paper of the Year Award (2018), and the Institute for Healthcare Improvement’s Best Scientific Paper Award (2009).
