Ria Das was born in Calcutta, India, and moved to North Carolina at eight months old. After growing up in Chapel Hill, she pursued a Neuroscience major and a Greek Classical Studies minor at Northwestern University. After two gap years dedicated to researching food allergies, eczema, asthma, and other atopic conditions, she developed a specific interest in health equity and the impact of social determinants on health outcomes. After medical school, Ria plans to apply for internal medicine. In her free time, she enjoys reading and spending time with friends!
