Yared Hurisa is a Business Intelligence Analyst in the Community Health & Engagement Department, where he leads the development of advanced analytics and equity dashboards that transform data into actionable insights for improving patient care and outcomes. His work, most notably Patient Vulnerability dashboard, and predictive analytics for readmissions are in line with IHQI’s mission to drive continuous quality improvement and embed data-informed equity practices across the system. With over 13 years of experience spanning healthcare and international development, Yared brings deep expertise in predictive modeling, machine learning, and quantitative research. Prior to UNC Health, he served as a Data Scientist at the American Institutes for Research and as an Applied Scientist at Kimetrica, leading projects funded by DARPA and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
