About
Dr. Whitlock graduated from Cornell University with a Bachelors of Arts in Biological Sciences and then obtained her medical degree from the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. Following medical school, Dr. Whitlock completed her Internal Medicine residency training at the University of Chicago Medical Center and went on to complete the Harvard Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship. Dr. Whitlock is a Clinical Associate Professor of Internal Medicine with the UNC School of Medicine and currently practices clinical medicine at the Four Seasons Elizabeth House, a twelve-bed inpatient hospice unit in Flat Rock, NC.
In her role as Associate Program Director for the UNC SOM Asheville Campus, Dr. Whitlock is involved in preceptor development, mentoring and advising Application Phase students, and developing Individualization Phase programming. Her educational interests include teaching advanced communication skills to trainees at all levels. Dr. Whitlock is also a facilitator for the Four Seasons Palliative Care Immersion Course, a week-long, intensive review of palliative care that draws participants nationally.
