About
Dr. Caroline Collins Roberts is an Associate Professor of Family Medicine at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine and Director of the Community Health Training Program (CHTP), a two-pathway track focused on community medicine in rural and medically underserved settings. CHTP’s mission is to cultivate future physicians committed to serving North Carolina’s diverse communities through both accelerated three-year and traditional four-year medical education pathways. The program integrates community-based and rural residency partnerships for students dedicated to North Carolina primary care.
A lifelong North Carolinian from a rural community, Dr. Roberts has devoted her career to strengthening the state’s primary care workforce through innovative medical education and mentorship. She maintains an active clinical practice providing inpatient maternity and pediatric care at UNC and serving families in rural Caswell County at Prospect Hill Community Health Center. Her work bridges undergraduate and graduate medical education, aligning training with community priorities to prepare future physicians to advance health equity across North Carolina.
