Expectations
Students are expected to:
- take responsibility for their own education (including reading extensively, attending conferences, and paticipating in patient care activities)
- interact in a professional and caring manner with patients, families, staff and colleagues
- be person-centered physicians-attentive to the ethical, economic, and political aspects of patient care, in addition to the biological and psychosocial aspects
- act non-judgmentally when dealing with patients with unhealthy behaviors, alternative lifestyles, or culturally diverse backgrounds
- assume as much responsibility as possible for the care of their patients
- communicate clearly and effectively with patients and colleagues
- practice evidence-based medicine
- think for themselves
