About
As a physician trained in the care of both adults and children with endocrine conditions, I am passionate about providing care across the lifespan, but I have a particular interest in helping adolescents and young adults learn to self-manage chronic illness. I enjoy working with my patients to find ways to fit their condition into their lives, rather than allowing disease management to interfere with things important to them. My research has focused on young people with type 1 diabetes with a particular interest in young people with executive function challenges, who have additional barriers to success in disease management. In future studies I will work to better elucidate the way that executive function challenges impact diabetes outcomes and to develop tools to better support young adults as they transition to managing diabetes more independently.
