Several liver diseases may be the result of the liver reacting to the body’s immune system. These diseases include: autoimmune hepatitis, primary biliary cirrhosis, and possibly, primary sclerosing cholangitis as well as variants of these diseases. The clinicians at the UNC Liver Program have extensive experience in the management of these conditions.
