About
My clinical and academic practice has focused principally on advanced therapeutic endoscopic procedures, especially those procedures that allow patients to avoid invasive surgery. Most precancerous growths, and even many early stage cancers of the digestive tract can be successfully treated without a need for invasive surgery, by using a variety of newer endoscopic techniques. Some of these techniques require extensive training and years of experience in order to master. Similarly, patients with spastic motility disorders of the esophagus can now be treated with endoscopic procedures, such as POEM, and thereby avoid the need for invasive surgery.
