About
Dr. Haydek is a gastroenterologist and clinical investigator specialized in the care of patients with inflammatory bowel diseases. He is a member of University of North Carolina’s Multidisciplinary Inflammatory Bowel Disease Center, where he is also participates in clinical trials. His interests include the use of biomarkers and endoscopy for disease surveillance.
In addition to clinical care, Dr. Haydek has been involved with the American Gastroenterological Association’s Clinical Guidelines Committee focused on developing guidelines for the treatment of patients with inflammatory pouch disorders and those with moderate to severe ulcerative colitis.
He is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and a member of the American Gastroenterological Association, American College of Gastroenterology, Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation, and American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.
