About
Dara McDougal is a Genetic Counselor and Clinical Assistant Professor at the UNC School of Medicine. Dara graduated with her undergraduate degree in Biomedical Sciences from North Carolina Central University and her Master’s degree in Genetic Counseling from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
Dara works with the UNC Genetics and her areas of focus include oncology and APOL1-mediated chronic kidney disease. Additionally, she sees patients out of UNC Nash as collaboration to increase care to underserved communities. Dara’s research primarily focuses on community engagement, and improvement of point-of-care resources.
Outside of work, Dara enjoys baking, gaming, and quality time with her family.
