Human-Computer Interaction, mHealth, Health Informatics, Cognition, Mental Health
About
Dr. Vizer applies person-centered research methods within the sociotechnical theoretical framework of information science to problems in personal health. She studies information needs and gaps in health support to inform development of appropriate solutions to assist people in managing their health in the way they desire. Dr. Vizer then evaluates the feasibility and efficacy of those solutions. She is especially interested in mHealth solutions that apply remote passive sensing of keystroke metadata on smartphones to detect and alleviate mood and cognition issues. Applications she is investigating include monitoring and assessment of cancer-related cognitive impairment in people diagnosed while adolescents and young adults, mental health in people diagnosed with cancer while adolescents and young adults, traumatic brain injury, and age-related cognitive decline.
