Halle Evans is a current undergraduate student at UNC-Chapel Hill majoring in Environmental Health Science with minors in Music and Geography. She is interested in infectious diseases, global health, and health equity. She has been working under Dr. Jonathan Parr and with Kyaw Twai, “Jolly,” processing samples for a longitudinal malarial study in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Outside of IDEEL, Halle volunteers for the ECUIPP Lab at UNC under Dr. Radhika Dhingra and Dr. Amanda Northcross working on a study focused on environmental health disparities in Robeson County.
Halle is also a member of UNC’s Wind Ensemble, where she plays the oboe, a member of various clubs such as UNC’s Asian American Association and UNC’s Chinese Undergraduate Association, and enjoys doing service-related activities involving underserved and minority communities.
