Halle Evans is an undergraduate student at UNC-Chapel Hill majoring in Environmental Health Science and minoring in Music and Geography. She is interested in infectious diseases, global health, and health equity. At IDEEL, she has worked on multiple projects related to malaria in sub-Saharan Africa. She’s currently working on a drug efficacy study involving diagnostic-resistant malaria in Ethiopia.

In addition to IDEEL, Halle has been involved with research through the ECUIPP Lab as a data processing volunteer, cleaning air quality monitor data. Additionally, this past summer, she completed an NSF REU Fellowship at UMaine working on a project focused on improving species-specific mosquito surveillance methods.

Halle is involved with multiple student organizations around campus. She’s a part of UNC’s Marathon Club, Asian American Association, and Musical Empowerment.

Outside of school, Halle enjoys spending time with friends, being active, and traveling.
