About
As Program Director of the UNC Infectious Diseases Fellowship Program, I have the privilege of recruiting, mentoring, and working alongside exceptionally talented fellows as they embark on diverse and impactful careers across the field of infectious diseases. I am deeply committed to medical education and to strengthening the academic pipeline in infectious diseases.
My clinical and research efforts focus on improving outcomes for individuals living with or at risk for HIV and other infectious diseases, particularly in under-resourced domestic settings. I serve as the Medical Director for the Wake County Health Department’s HIV, PrEP, and STI clinics, where I provide direct patient care, lead program development and implementation, and collaborate with a dedicated team of compassionate, highly skilled professionals. Drawing on this work, my research aims to translate the promise of highly effective HIV medications into practical successes in HIV care and prevention.
