About

Originally hailing from Long Island, New York, I’ve spent my life studying human disease to develop novel therapeutics and prevention strategies. My current interest is in developing immunotherapies against bacterial pathogens to help combat the effects of antimicrobial resistance on my patients. Moving to North Carolina has helped me appreciate not only warm weather, but also how geography affects what pathogens are more or less common – one of my favorite aspects of Infectious Disease I chose UNC Infectious Disease because of the amazing breadth of research that the Institute for Global Health and Infectious Diseases performs, as well as UNC’s commitment to physician scientists through its Physician Scientist Training Program. While here, I’ve also come to value the amazing camaraderie of the physicians, pharmacist, and research staff here at UNC.In my free time, I enjoy cooking, the occasional woodworking project, and exploring the coral reefs of the world through SCUBA diving and underwater photography.
