About
Dr. Kotzen’s primary focus is on providing excellent medical care for people who have or need a kidney transplant. Her research interests include quality improvement in preventative health including immunizations for kidney transplant recipients, quality improvement in care pathways for adolescent and young adults with kidney transplant, and clinical trials focused on improving kidney transplant long-term outcomes and quality of life.
In addition to her clinical and research interests, Dr. Kotzen enjoys medical education, serving as an instructor in the UNC School of Medicine’s Case Based Learning course for first-year medical students. Outside of work, Dr. Kotzen enjoys time with her family, gardening, and spending time outdoors.
