Gunjan Singh grew up in Austin, Texas, and trained as a pediatrician at UT Southwestern in Dallas. She began her career as a general pediatrician caring for children in foster care, where she found deep meaning in building relationships with families and advocating for their needs. This experience sparked her interest in pursuing a fellowship in palliative care. During the interview process, the warmth and supportive environment of the UNC program made it a clear frontrunner for her.
Outside of the hospital, Gunjan enjoys exploring North Carolina with her husband, Andrew. They’ve fallen in love with the area’s strong sense of community, its delicious local food, and the charm of its family-owned businesses. They’re excited about hiking in the mountains and swimming at the beaches. Their cat, Sneeze, has also settled in nicely – thrilled by the abundance of birds and squirrels to watch from the window.
