About
Dr Lobo’s is the medical director of the Lung Transplant and Interstitial Lung Disease Center at the University of North Carolina. Clinically, he sees patients pre and post lung transplant and patients with advanced lung disease, interstitial lung disease (ILD), idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), cystic lung disease such as LAM and other rare lung diseases. His research interests include lung transplant immunology, specifically HLA-antibodies and donor specific antibodies, infectious complications with lung transplant, immunology of interstitial lung disease, specifically auto-antibodies and ILD and possible therapies and lastly, stem cell therapy in idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis and progressive interstitial lung disease.
