New PNAS publication for Conlon Lab

Conlon Lab and former post doc Chris Slagel, in collaboration with Ivan Moskowitz’s lab (University of Chicago), have a new publication in PNAS demonstrating that cardiac signaling is required for the initiation of lung formation in air breathing vertebrates: Evolutionarily conserved Tbx5–Wnt2/2b pathway orchestrates cardiopulmonary development.

$2.8-million NIH Funding for Griffith Lab

Boyce Griffith, PhD, Associate Professor of Mathematics, member of the McAllister Heart Institute, and Adjunct Faculty in the Departments of Applied Physical Sciences and Biomedical Engineering, has received a $2.8-million award from the National Institutes of Health for a new 5-year project, Multiscale Modeling of Clotting Risk in Atrial Fibrillation.
