New NIH grant for Liu Lab

Jiandong Liu, PhD has received a $2 million research grant from the NIH for his project “Molecular regulation of ventricular chamber maturation.” In September 2017, he received one year of funding from the NIH for a related project. The new funding demonstrates the NIH’s continuing commitment to supporting Dr. Liu’s research.

NIH funding for multidisciplinary McAllister group

McAllister Heart Institute receives funding to advance novel therapy for heart failure

A $1.9 million NIH grant will enable new studies of alpha-1-adrenergic receptors in the heart. Brian Jensen, MD, an associate professor in the division of cardiology and the department of pharmacology, and member of the McAllister Heart Institute, will serve as principal investigator for research that considers how metabolic alterations provide cardioprotection.
