Congratulations to Anh Luu, a graduate student, in Dr. Rau’s Lab, for recently receiving a predoctoral fellowship from AHA.
Anh’s research studies the role of the metalloproteinase Adamts2 in cell-type crosstalk during heart failure and demonstrates that loss of Adamts2 in fibroblasts blunts the hypertrophic response of cardiomyocytes to beta adrenergic agonists. By better understanding its role in regulating the heart’s response to stress signals, her work may uncover novel mechanisms for regulating heart failure progression.
