Congratulations to Uriel Luccene Jean-Baptiste, a graduate student, who received his Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Biochemistry from the Florida State University, currently in Dr. Neher’s Lab, for successfully passing qualifying doctoral oral exam.
Under the mentorship of Saskia Neher, Ph.D., Associate Professor of Biochemistry and Biophysics, Uriel is studying the mechanisms and kinetics of endothelial lipase (EL) inhibition by ANGPTL3. The Neher Lab primarily studies proteins involved in lipid metabolism and redox chemistry. They use structural biology, analytical biochemistry, and microscopy to answer questions about enzyme function, inhibition, and trafficking.
