Congratulations to Whitney Edwards, Ph.D., Assistant Professor, Cell Biology and Physiology, for the receipt of P&F award from the UNC NORC and SPLENDOR-NC Program.

Her proposal, titled, “Investigating the role of the Mevalonate Pathway in Gestational Diabetes-Associated Congenital Heart Defects”, is a 1-year grant. SPLENDOR-NC draws upon well-established collaborations through their NIDDK-funded UNC Nutrition Obesity Research Center and their NIDDK-funded North Carolina Diabetes Research Center. They leverage the strong partnerships between Duke University, North Carolina A&T State University, North Carolina Central University, The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Wake Forest University, and Winston-Salem State University, and to facilitate the success of early career faculty engaged in research in the fields of nutrition, obesity, and diabetes.National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney DiseasesSupporting, Promoting And Launching The Expansion Of Nutrition, Diabetes And Obesity Researchers-North Carolina (SPLENDOR-NC) ProgramThe UNC Nutrition Obesity Research Center
