Congratulations to Whitney Edwards, Ph.D., Assistant Professor, Cell Biology and Physiology, for the receipt of P&F award from the UNC NORC and SPLENDOR-NC Program.
Her proposal, titled, “Investigating the role of the Mevalonate Pathway in Gestational Diabetes-Associated Congenital Heart Defects”, is a 1-year grant. SPLENDOR-NC draws upon well-established collaborations through their NIDDK-funded UNC Nutrition Obesity Research Center and their NIDDK-funded North Carolina Diabetes Research Center. They leverage the strong partnerships between Duke University, North Carolina A&T State University, North Carolina Central University, The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Wake Forest University, and Winston-Salem State University, and to facilitate the success of early career faculty engaged in research in the fields of nutrition, obesity, and diabetes.
