Congratulations to William Polacheck, Ph.D., an MHI member and Assistant Professor of Biomedical Engineering; Member, Cell Biology and Physiology Curriculum, UNC Medicine; Member, Comparative Medicine Institute, NCSU, and Chloe Whitworth, a Ph.D. student in Genetics and Molecular Biology, for publishing article, titled “P300 modulates endothelial mechanotransduction of fluid shear stress”, in the journal Cellular and Molecular Bioengineering.

The manuscript focuses on a role for p300 activity in endothelial mechanotransduction and won a Cell and Molecular Bioengineering Young Innovator Award from the Biomedical Engineering Society. It has been published in a special issue of Cellular and Molecular Bioengineering, and the work will be presented at a special session for awardees at the National Biomedical Engineering Society Meeting this fall and can be read online now.
