A new activity-dependent role for the protein heavily implicated in autism, Neuroligin-1, identified

Members of the Philpot Lab, Portia Kunz and Angie Mabb, contributed to a paper with Mike Ehlers (CSO of Pfizer Neurosciences) that was the cover article of most recent issue of Neuron, released October 18, 2012. Neuroligin-1 dysfunction is implicated in autism, and the Philpot Lab helped identify a new activity-dependent role for the protein.
