The UNC Neuroscience Center has been awarded a five-year, $3,650,000 Center Grant from the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS).
The Center Grant supports neuroscience research infrastructure by funding cutting edge core facilities. The six core areas that will be supported by this award are genomics and bioinformatics, gene expression localization, BAC (Bacterial Artificial Chromosome) engineering technology, embryonic stem cell technology, multiphoton and confocal imaging and assay development for high throughput screening.
The UNC Neuroscience Center Research Cores will serve the entire neuroscience community in UNC’s School of Medicine and for the sciences in UNC-Chapel Hill. The Principle Investigator of the grant is Dr. William Snider, director of the UNC Neuroscience Center.
