Title: Targeting Cortical Dynamics: Rational Design of Individualized Brain Stimulation

Our grant funds interdisciplinary research on individualized, non-invasive brain stimulation to modulate cortical state dynamics and cognition. The research combines computer simulations, animal experiments, and human studies. By studying the fundamental principles that guide cortical state dynamics, we will be able to develop mechanism-based, individualized brain stimulation therapeutics that aim to alleviate debilitating cognitive symptoms of severe psychiatric illnesses such as schizophrenia.
