The UNC Neuroscience Center is excited to announce the promotion of Dr. Hiroyuki Kato from Assistant Professor to Associate Professor!
Dr. Kato obtained a Ph.D. in Neuroscience from the University Tokyo. In 2017, he started the Kato Lab, which focuses on how the brain processes sound inputs in order to detect complex patterns. For more information, visit the Kato Lab website.
Promotion is awarded to faculty within the School of Medicine based on teaching, DEI, research, and professional service mission contributions, and Dr. Kato’s promotion is effective immediately.1
