Congratulations to Garret Stuber, PhD, on receiving more than $2 million dollars to continue his NIH-funded research studying upstream neural circuits that interface with VTA dopamine neurons to encode rewards and predictive cues.
Stuber’s work employs in vivo two photon imaging, optogenetics, and other techniques to resolve the function and organization of these circuits that are critical for various types of motivated behaviors including those that are perturbed in neuropsychiatric illnesses.
