The UNC Neuroscience Center would like to announce our two new imaging systems in the Confocal and Multiphoton Imaging Facility. The new systems are the Zeiss LSM 710 Confocal and Zeiss LSM 710 Multiphoton.

The Zeiss LSM 710 Confocal is equipped with the 405 laser, which enables DAPI or other popular nuclei label dyes, the system is not based on filters, and has new data acquistion and analysis software which will provide improved interface and image processing.

The Multiphoton system will primarily serve for in vivo imaging of mice brain. A penetration depth of up to 700 um has been demonstrated during the tests.

Dr. Ghukasyan will be leading the trainings needed to operate the new equipment. The training fees and new policies announced late last year are available on the Confocal and Multiphoton Imaging Core site.
