On October 23, 2014, the 15th Annual Neuroscience Symposium was held on UNC’s campus at the Carolina Club. It featured talks from Drs. Gina Turrigiano, PhD, Anatol Kreitzer, PhD, and David Van Essen, PhD. More than 200 Neuroscientists from UNC and around the Triangle attended the 15th Annual UNC Neuroscience Symposium on the beautiful fall morning to hear outstanding presentations by Drs. Gina Turrigiano, PhD, Anatol Kreitzer, PhD, and David Van Essen, PhD. Their talks covered a variety of topics including: Homeostatic regulation of firing rates in visual cortex, Basal ganglia circuit mechanisms underlying motor function and dysfunction, and The Human Connectome Project: Progress and Prospects. Each presentation was followed by a lively question-and-answer session, where members of the audience were encouraged to ask the speakers to clarify or elaborate on the topics they had addressed. The day concluded with a buffet luncheon at the Carolina Club and opportunities for faculty members, postdocs, and students to meet with the speakers.
