Dr. Leslie Clark, assistant professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, has been awarded the 2023 APGO Humanism in Teaching Award.
The Association of Professors of Gynecology and Obstetrics (APGO) Humanism in Teaching Award honors OBGYN educators from APGO member departments who are outstanding role models in the teaching of OBGYN. Awardees are recognized not only as skilled clinicians, but also as outstanding educators who intentionally foster compassionate, respectful, and collaborative relationships with learners, healthcare teams, patients, and their families with the ultimate goal of engendering shared and preference-based medical decisions, greater patient satisfaction with care, and improved outcomes.
Dr. Leslie Clark is an assistant professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is board certified in both Obstetrics and Gynecology, and Gynecologic Oncology. She completed her fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill before joining the division of Gynecologic Oncology in 2017. Since joining the division she has served as the rotation director for medical students and residents in Gynecologic Oncology. She has recently been named as the program director for the Gynecologic Oncology Fellowship.
