WHY OBSTETRICS AND GYNECOLOGY?

I chose OBGYN because it provides the perfect intersection of my clinical passions such as medicine, surgery, procedures, and continuity of care, while also providing an intersection of my social passions like advocacy, reproductive justice, and empowering women. It is such a privilege to walk alongside patients throughout their lives and during their most important and vulnerable interactions with healthcare.

WHY UNC?

I chose UNC for many of the same reasons I chose OBGYN: a combination of clinical excellence, social responsibility, and supportive community. UNC offers the resources and mentorship to pursue fellowship or confidently practice as a well-trained generalist. The residents are not only brilliant but also genuinely kind and emotionally supportive, creating an environment where I know I’ll thrive during a hard 4 years. I was also excited for the chance to move closer to home near my brother, his girlfriend, and my husband’s family!
