Why Obstetrics and Gynecology?

I fell in love with the opportunity to be involved in so many integral and powerful moments of women’s lives. We provide true clinical continuity through our medical counseling, surgical care, and emotional support. It is a unique specialty in which we are able to see how important health education and access to medical resources are in enabling patients to make autonomous and informed decisions about their reproductive health. I have especially enjoyed how these interests have fueled my passion for Gynecologic Oncology!

Why UNC?

The people, the patients, the place. UNC commits to supporting diversity within our healthcare teams to better reflect those of the patients we are serving. This is something that is critical to delivering high quality and culturally sensitive care. The department has a unique commitment to education and teaching and I knew this environment would help me grow into a strong clinician and surgeon with an unmatched experience at the end of my four years. I will forever bleed Carolina blue!
