Bio:

Dr. Ariana Hess, MD, MPH, practices both general obstetrics and gynecology as well as a pediatric and adolescent gynecology. She received her medical degree from the Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara School of Medicine where she learned to practice in both English and Spanish.  She completed her residency training in obstetrics and gynecology at the Medical College of Wisconsin.  She completed a fellowship in pediatric and adolescent gynecology at Phoenix Children’s. Professionally, she enjoys educating both medical students and residents about pediatric and adolescent gynecology.  She has experience with congenital genital tract anomalies, pediatric infections, bleeding disorders, menstrual suppression, contraception, and more.  She loves chatting with patients of all ages, finding an approachable way to counsel patients and families about complicated diagnoses, and tailoring  treatment plans to individual needs. She derives great satisfaction from watching her patients grow! Her main research interests include reproductive education in adolescents and quality improvement for both healthcare providers and patients.  In this effort to improve adolescent reproductive knowledge, she developed the Reproductive Health Knowledge Index (RHKI), a validated instrument to comprehensively measure reproductive health knowledge in female adolescents.  When she is not seeing patients in the office, preforming surgery in the operating room, or taking call at the hospital, she enjoys drinking tea and eating tacos. She also loves practicing yoga, hiking with her dog, and traveling with her family.
