Personal Biography:
I am a native North Carolinian who started OBG residency at UNC in 1983 and have worked here since. My clinical focus is on preterm birth, perinatal substance abuse, and office gynecology. I have contributed to research innovations including limited use of episiotomy, progesterone to prevent recurrent preterm birth, magnesium for neuroprotection, and timing of labor induction. I recently completed a certificate program at Duke Divinity in Theology, Medicine, and Culture.
