Personal Biography:
Sheri MacLean is a Certified Nurse Midwife, Family Nurse Practitioner, and North Carolina Native who, prior to joining UNC in 2021, previously worked 14 years in West Africa where her work included founding a successful Prevention of Mother to Child Transmission Program, as well as training national health care workers in tropical medicine, premature baby care, and pediatric oncology. Given her background, Sheri is a strong advocate for underserved populations and desires that each family feels seen and heard during their labor process.
