Why Obstetrics and Gynecology?

First, I chose medicine because I wanted to address social justice concerns, health equity, and social determinants of health. OBGYN lends itself well to social medicine and it’s focus on women’s health and showing up for patients’ needs very much spoke to me. I was also an individual who loved both medicine and surgery and so I knew I wanted a specialty at the intersection of both!

Why UNC?

I loved the environment here during my interview day! It really felt like my passions for OBGYN aligned strongly with this program & that they would make me into the time of OBGYN that I wanted to be. I also loved how honest, supportive, and genuine everyone seemed (from fellow interviewees to residents to attendings).
